21-year-old Melrick D’Souza Hacked to Death at Valencia
Mangaluru: A 21-year-old youth was hacked to death in Gorigudda, Valencia on Christmas Eve here on December 25.
The deceased has been identified as Melrick D’Souza (21), a resident of Gorigudda.
According to the primary reports, on December 25, at around 1:00am, Melrick was hacked with Machetes near his house in Gorigudda.
Melrick D’Souza was an associate of noted criminal Monkey Stand Vijay alias Vijaya. In August 2016, Melrick was arrested in the attempt to murder of Sandeep Shetty at Marnamikatte Rickshaw Park.
The body has been shifted to the Government Wenlock Hospital Morgue for post-mortem.
According to the police, on December 25, at around 12:45 am, after the Christmas party, Melrick returned home. When he reached home he saw about five persons suspiciously moving outside his house. He immediately called his friend and informed him about it. His friend immediately called the Pandeshwar police who at once rushed to the spot. By that time the police reached the spot, The group barged into Melrick’s house and hacked him to death.
At the time of the incident, Melrick’s grandmother was present. Melrick was involved in various crimes and was released on bail just two days ago.
A case has been registered in the Pandeshwar Police station.
