Mangaluru: A couple was arrested in connection with peddling Ganja near Bharathi Ship Yard, Kasba Bengre, here on April 9.
The arrested have been identified as Aziz (37) and his wife Mumtaz (35), a resident of Kasba Bengre.
According to the police, on receiving information, Panambur police raided the area in Kasba Bengre. During the raid Police arrested Aziz and his wife Mumtaz with a stock of 1.150 kg of Ganja. The couple was in the process of selling ganja to visitors and students in their two wheeler.
Panambur police team led by Inspector Lokesh A C, PSI Satish M, ASI Jayashree, Chandrahas Alva, Radhakrishna and Rasheed Sheikh arrested the couple and seized Ganja worth Rs 19,000, Scooter and cash Rs 2700 from their possession.
Aziz and Mumtaz were produced before the court. A case has been registered in the Panambur police station.
