Abu Dhabi: Bearys Welfare Forum celebrated their much awaited “BWF DASHAMANOSTVA”, with the theme “Celebrating 10 years of Social Service”, with much fanfare and participation of dignitaries from all walks of life.
The first part of the programme began with an invocation, followed by a welcome dance and a Qawali. Mohamed Siddik Kaup welcomed the gathering.
Jaleel Gurupur presented the achievements and the activities of BWF through a powerpoint presentation. The much awaited award ceremony and decennial programme began with the national anthems of UAE and India.
Former Minister, Govt. Of Karnataka, B A Moideen inaugurated the programme and lauded the BWF for its humanitarian services. Mohamed Ali Uchil presided over the programme. Hamza Abdul Khader and Mohamed Rafeeq Krishnapur (Vice presidents, BWF), Mohamed Siddik Kaup (Treasurer) and Basheer Bajpe (Chief Adviser) were present on the dais. B A Mohamed Ali compered the programme.
General Secretary Abdulla Madumoole put forth the core achievements of BWF during his introductory speech, mainly the charitable causes initiated by BWF which were successfully conducted in Mangaluru, especially the mass marriages of 85 poor girls. He also highlighted BWF-Projects like distribution of wheel chairs and empathized on the BWF Pilot Project – Shouchalaya, a unique project to construct 200 toilets for the poor in the society, irrespective of caste and religion in various parts of the twin districts.
Mohammed Ali Uchil thanked all BWF executive committee members for their hard work and dedication in organizing the event. He further said that it is an incredible achievement for BWF, which managed to accomplish so many tasks, and hoped for all of its project to be successful. He congratulated them for their innovative ideas, hard work, sincerity and dedication towards community causes, which helped in the formation of BWF and in its growth.
MP Mani Shankar Aiyer symbolically released the BWF Souvenir. He impressed the audience with his open and intelligent speech highlighting the beauty of Indians. He emphasized that Islam and Quran is not only confined for Muslims, but for the whole of mankind.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader was the chief guest. Khader shared his experience of being a minister and his political life.
The MD and Chairman NMC group, B R Shetty, praised BWF for its selfless service to the Mangalorean community and pledged his support. MLAs B A Mohiuddin Bava and Sathish Reddy, M E Moolur (Vice President of BCF), Asif, Althaf Ahmed, Althaf Kateeb, Ravi Rai and Kasim of Hidaya foundation were also present on the dais.

The star attraction during the award function was “Aksara Santha” Harekala Hajabba, who received a standing ovation from the audience. Abdul Hameed Gurupur, Secretary of BWF, delivered the vote of thanks.

10 years of social involvement and finally a celebration to showcase the activities – BWF Dashamanotsava was a memorable event.
