Instead of criticizing, Kota Srinivas should call Review Meetings to Speed-up Ration Card Process – Khader
Mangaluru: “We don’t have any objection if Shobha goes from house to house to collect Rice for Sri Rama School Kalladka. Let Shobha go and beg every day, if she comes to my house I will help her according to my capacity. The opposition cannot tolerate the development work of CM Siddaramaiah and is playing a political drama. There are a number of students in private institutions in my constituency in Mudipu who are skipping their lunch without being able to afford it. Let the Temple authorities provide lunch for those students who skip their lunch due to poverty”, said the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on August 18.
Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “In a programme, BJP leader Kota Srinivas Poojary had criticized me in regard to providing the ration cards. From the past 20 years we are facing many issues in providing ration cards but now we have taken all necessary measures to solve those problems and are streamlining the process of issuing ration cards. Instead of calling for a review meeting with the concerned authorities and helping to solve the problems, Kota Srinivas Poojary is criticizing me. During the elections, ration cards were distributed and later withdrawn because of bogus ration cards. It is the duty of the elected members to call for review meetings in their concern constituencies and help in solving the problems rather than criticizing.”
U T Khader further said, “We have prepared a check list for 8.5 lakh applications of the total 16 lakh we had received. We have already verified 3.5 lakh applications and 50,000 rations cards have been printed. In Mangaluru we have prepared a check list for 10000 applications and 7000 applications have been verified. 1850 ration cards are in the process of printing.
