Alleged Naxal Veeramani produced in Udupi Court
Udupi: The District Sessions Court has reserved the hearing of three alleged Naxals involved in the murder of Bhoja Shetty and Suresh Shetty of Hebri on November 15.
The prime accused Veeramani alias Chennapillai was produced before the court. He was brought to Udupi from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu on body warrant by the Hebri police. The accused Veeramani pleaded not guilty before the Sessions Judge. The counsel representing Veeramani requested the Sessions Judge for bail.
The other accused Niluguli Padhmanabh alias Paddanna who is in Chikkamagaluru Jail was not produced to the court as he had to appear before the Sringeri Court for hearing. Another accused Ramesh who is in Bengaluru Jail was also not produced before the court.
Accused Veeramani pleaded that his wife was not keeping well and needed to be shifted to Karnataka from Coimbatore Jail.
The Session Judge scheduled the hearing for November 15 and quashed his bail plea saying bail cannot be granted while being produced before the court with body warrant.
Veeramani shouted slogans “Maoism Zindabad” during his exit from the court.
