Monsignor Leslie Shenoy’s Boys Home Inaugurated at Deo Gratias, Urwa
Mangaluru: The Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza, Blessed the New home for the boys and dedicated it as Monsignor Leslie Shenoy’s Boys Home here on Wednesday, 4 July 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
Monsignor Leslie Shenoy inaugurated the new building by cutting the ribbon. This building is a dream of Monsignor Shenoy, and today it is fulfilled. When Monsignor returned from the USA, after years of service, he wanted to make one of the floors at Deo Gratias, Chilimbi, Urwa (where he lives) a place for the needy boys for their college education. At the advice of few experienced priests, he changed his mind as he was advised to enjoy his retirement and not to take any stress in raising these boys. Ever since then, he was looking for an opportunity to make his intention come true, an opportunity came, and he did say immediately a big YES. It took over long six years to make this a reality, going through few obstacles.
This new Home has three floors (total 12,000 square feet) and can accommodate 42 young men who really look for a place to live and fulfill their dream of getting a Collage degree. The Bishop thanked Monsignor Leslie Shenoy for his generosity and for giving back something to the society. The Bishop also honoured Msgr. Shenoy with shawl and flowers. Bishop also thanked everyone, including the Contractor for their services.
Dear Uncle,
Congratulations, may the good Lord continue to bless the good work you are doing.

What a magnanimous job, and what a lovely contribution towards Mangalore from a retired priest. The young men will be fortunate in enjoying all the benefits that are preserved for them in their welfare of life.
Monsignor Shenoy will bring with him tons of his experience and dedication towards social work, specially in honor of the young boys who will grow and proper in this new Institution.
We would certainly like to visit this Institution during our next visit to Mangalore in order to witness the good work in honor of the young men of Mangalore.
Hope this noble gesture would be useful for Students from places such as Shirva Kinnigoli and Pangal.
Wishing all the success
