‘Sunday Lockdown’ evokes good response in Udupi District
Udupi: The ‘Sunday Lockdown’ called by the government as part of phase four of the lockdown has evoked a good response in Udupi district on May 24.
Based on the State and the Central government guidelines, prohibitory orders are in place across the district. Outlets selling milk, fruits, meat and vegetables have been excluded, and they will operate as usual.
“Essential services will be available between 7 am and 7 pm on Sunday. Sale of liquor is banned.
All roads, markets, bus stands, railway stations in the city wore a deserted look.
Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh said that the 36-hour-lockdown from Saturday, May 23 (7 pm) to Monday, May 25 (7 am) would be strictly implemented with zero tolerance to violations. However, essentials will be available as before.
May be I am talking to a wall but let me reiterate it anyway –
This virus is not going to go away. Even if it does go away for now it will come back again during the next season in mutated form. Through these shutdowns you are only shooting at your own feet. Bite the bullet and learn to live with it. We all have to go someday. Don’t make the medicine kill the patient in your stupidity. How thick are you?
