Anti-rowdy Squad Arrests 7 Youth for Consuming Ganja

Mangaluru: The Anti-rowdy Squad arrested 7 youth from Kottara Chowki, Kuntikan and Kodikal while they were consuming Ganja here on October 29.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Ramlan (22) from Valencia, Ankith Shetty (25) from Marnamikatte, Shubham (23) from Kadri, Shawn Rodrigues (19) from Kadri, Ganesh Poojary (24) from Jeppu, Praveen (25) from Kodikal and Ranjith Devadiga (21) from Kodikal.

According to the police, on October 29, on getting reliable information that some youth were consuming Ganja in Kottara Chowki, Kuntikan and Kodikal, the Anti-rowdy Squad got into action and arrested all the seven youth from the three places.

The arrested youth from Kuntikan are Mohammed Ramlan and Ankith Shetty. Shubham, Shawn Rodrigues and Ganesh Poojary were arrested in Kottara Chowki and Praveen and Ranjith Devadiga were arrested from Kodikal. All the seven were taken to the hospital for medical test and confirmed for consuming drugs.

Under the NDPS act, three cases have been registered in Urwa police station.

Under the able guidance of Police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and order Hanumantharaya, DCP crime and traffic Uma Prashanth and ACP Uday Nayak, the operation was carried out by the Anti-rowdy Squad Police Inspector Ravish Nayak, PSI Krishna B, ASI Balakrishna, ASI Damodar, Head constables Santhosh Kumar Sasihithlu, Siddarth, Santhosh Kumar, Karunesh Kumar, Lokesh, Pramod, Vinod, Yogish, Kantharaju, Hemanth Kumar, Shankarappa Lamani.
