Auto Driver Dies as Car Crashes into Parked Auto in Jyothi Stand, one arrested
Mangaluru: A 25-year-old Auto Driver died and three others were injured when a Car at high speed crashed into an auto parked in the auto stand at Jyothi here on August 6.
The deceased has been identified as Praveen (25) a native of Madikeri, presently residing in Kuntikan. The injured have been identified as Ashok and Jagadish, the identity of the other injured who sustained minor injury is not known.
On August 6, at around 10:45 pm, Praveen had parked his auto in the auto stand at Jyothi. A car bearing registration number KA 20 P 1812 crashed into the parked auto at high speed injuring three auto drivers and a passerby.
Severely injured Praveen and Ashok were rushed to KMC Hospital, Jyothi and Jagadish was admitted to the Wenlock Hospital. Praveen later breathed his last in the hospital.
The Driver of the Car Anish John was arrested by the police. Beer bottles were found in the car, drunk driving is the main cause of the accident said eyewitnesses.
Bunder police reached the spot and arrested the car driver.
