Bantwal: The first-ever Jackfruit Fest of Karnataka was held at B C Road on Sunday, June 14, with a large number of jackfruit connoisseurs gathering to taste the exclusive preparations.
It was held under the aegis of the South Kanara Photographers Association (Bantwal region) to mark their silver jubilee celebrations.
As many of 25 kinds of jackfruit preparations were up for grabs. Interested jack feast-lovers had to buy a coupon of Rs 199 per head.
The programme was a thumping success, inspiring a few others to plan similar Jack Fest or Feast in their respective areas.
Two local ice-cream making units that have been producing jackfruit ice-cream over the last 3 or 4 years presented their products and they were a hit with the visitors.
