Bengaluru: Government Designates Sep 25 as Bakrid Holiday, Coastal Districts Stick to Sep 24

Bengaluru: In a notification, the state government has announced Friday, September 25 as a holiday for Eid-ul-Azza in lieu of Sep 24 which was announced earlier.

The state moon-sighting committee has decided Sep 25 according the Dul-Haj month in the lunar-based calendar. Hence the majority of the districts will celebrate it on Sep 25, because of which the government has revised the date of holiday.

However, the feast will be observed on Thursday, Sep 24 in the districts of Udupi, DK and Kodagu.
