Bengaluru: The first additional chief metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday issued a summons to Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati Swamiji to appear before it in person.
This is in connection with the case filed against him based on charges of sexual assault levelled against him by a former Ramakatha vocalist. The Swamiji has already obtained an anticipatory bail in the same case.
In the meantime, the state CID which is investigating the case, has appealed to the court to cancel the bail, since the Swamiji had not cooperated with it by refusing to undergo medical tests and also had allegedly threatened the witnesses.
Special public prosecutor B A Belliappa on Monday submitted the application for the cancellation of the bail. The accused had been asked to appear for a medical test on Sep 30 but he failed to turn up.
