Bhaskar murder case, Wife and Son Produced Before Court, Remanded 5 days Police Custody
Udupi: The accused Rajeshwari and Navaneeth Shetty in the Bhaskar Shetty murder case have been produced before the court, here on August 8.
Bhaskar Shetty, an Hotelier was missing since July 28, in this connection, a missing person’s complaint was filed on July 30, in the Manipal police station by Bhaskar Shetty’s mother Gulabi.
On August 6, Bhaskar Shetty’s body found in a burnt state near a temple at Nandalike, Karkala. Bhaskar was first kidnapped, murdered and his body was allegedly burnt by his wife and son together with an astrologer Niranjan Bhat.
Astrologer Niranjan Bhat is absconding and search is on for him.
The district sessions court granted five days police custody from Monday, August 8 to August 12 to Rajeshwari and Navaneeth. Rajeshwari and Navaneeth were brought to the court by the Manipal Police around 11:00 am. During the hearing, Praveen Nayak assistant public prosecutor argued on behalf of the police and asked for police custody. Senior Advocate Mattar Rathnakar Hegde appeared on behalf of Rajeshwari and Navaneeth.
After hearing from both the sides, the Magistrate Rajesh Karnan remanded the accused to five days police custody. Rajeshwari and Navaneeth were later taken to the police station for further investigations.
