BJP and Sangh Parivar Protest against Arrest of Jagadish Karanth

Puttur: The BJP and Sangh Parivar staged a protest at the Puttur Bus stand after HJV leader Jagadish Karanth was arrested in Bengaluru on September 29.

The state Secretary of Hindu Jagarana Vedike Radhakrishna Adyanthaya said, “When Vaidehi, Bhagavan insulted the Holy book Ramayan and Mahabharat, the police did not have the capacity to arrest them. Our leader Jagadish Karanth was arrested for his speech, we are not afraid of his arrest and we will not hide. If Karanth will not be released we will stage a state-wide protest”, he warned.

District Bajrang Dal Gau Rakshak Pramukh Murali Hamsathadka said, “The police have shown their cowardliness by arresting Karanth. If one Karanth is arrested a thousand Karanth’s will be born to raise their voice against the injustice. If Karanth will not be released by tonight, the government will be held responsible for any untoward incidents taking place”.

HJV leader Satyajith Suratkal, C Thimmappa Shetty, Jeevan, Arun Kumar Puthila and others were also present.
