Bus Conductor Jumps into Kumaradhara, after Argument with Passenger
Subramanya: A conductor of the KSRTC bus jumped into the Kumaradhara river after a commotion with a woman passenger in regard to the bus ticket fare issue, here on September 25.
The conductor has been identified as Devadas (42), a resident of Vamanjoor.
According to the police, a woman was traveling in a KSRTC bus, from Mangaluru to Subramanya, she paid for the ticket but did not receive the change from the conductor. She started to argue with the conductor that she had given him Rs 500 and wanted the balance money. But the conductor said that the woman had given him only a Rs 100 note. There was an exchange of words and the matter reached the police station in Kadaba.
The issue was solved in the police station and the bus proceeded towards Subramanya. The woman after some time started to argue with the conductor, that she had paid Rs 500 and wanted the change. Hurt by her accusation and argument, Devadas, while the bus slowed down on the Kumaradhara bridge jumped out of the bus and then in to the river.
The driver of the bus immediately informed the Subramanya police station. A case has been registered in the Subramanya police station. The Subramanya police Inspector Gopal visited the spot and the search is on for Devadas.
