Club Owner Hacked to Death in Manipal

Udupi: A unidentified gang of 4 members hacked to death a Club Owner at Manipal near Manipal on Sunday, July 29 afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Guruprasad Bhat (46). He was running a recreation club at ‘7th Heaven’ building in Manipal. He was a relative of Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat.

According to the initial reports, 4 miscreants came in a car with machetes and other sharp weapons and attacked Guruprasad, leaving him grievously injured. Guruprasad was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The reason for the murder is yet to be ascertained. Police suspect old rivalry to be the motive.

The Manipal Police rushed the spot and are investigating.
