It is to be noted this Sichuan Food Festival you will find the expertise of their finest chef Sebastian from Taj-Vizag, under the supervision of Executive Chef Sinu Vijayan of Hotel Taj Gateway-Mangaluru to bring out the best of the Chinese Cuisine featured in the Fest. Sebastian has researched a lot to ensure that the best dishes of the Chinese cuisine has been showcased at the festival. He has meticulously prepared the dishes preparing the right combination of Chinese cuisine which is tasty, hygienic and healthy. Also speaking to Team Mangalorean, Chef Sebastian said, “The spices used are mainly sesame seeds, soya, bean paste, garlic, ginger and red chillies. Chinese cuisine is widely seen as representing one of the richest and most diverse culinary heritages in the world. It is also the most diverse offerings you can find in the world with variations from the spicy delights of Sichuan to the intricate preparation of Cantonese dishes. A meal in Chinese culture is typically seen as consisting of two general components: (1) a carbohydrate source or starch, known as 主食 in the Chinese language (Pinyin: zhǔshí; lit. “main food”, staple)- typically rice, noodles, or mantou (steamed buns), and (2) accompanying dishes of vegetables, fish, meat, or other items, known as 菜 (Pinyin: cài; lit. “vegetable”) in the Chinese language. We have tried our best to serve the Chinese food lovers of Mangaluru the best Chinese delicacies we could offer”
The Sichuan Food Festival witnessed quite a number of people on the first night and people really enjoyed the event. Sally {name changed}, a air hostess with Air India Express said Taj and its Management have done wonders by arranging such a fine event, I am really amazed patronizing this Festival, where the food is great and the ambience and décor are simply outstanding, me and my colleague really enjoyed this event and were pleasantly surprised to see these kinds of cultural activities in Mangaluru. Yet another diner, Dr Anoop said that arranging these kinds of Festivals are a breath of fresh air for us and our children just love to eat Chinese Food at the Taj, and we are thank full to the management of the hotel for infusing some life in to this City. Dr Anoop was of the view that these kinds of activities should continue in future too and appreciated the Hotel for arranging this Festival, and also other food festivals in the past.
