Grocery Shop Damaged as Tree Falls on Roof at Kadiyali
Udupi: An early morning shower on June 11 in the city has brought down a tree at Kadiyali ward damaging a grocery store.
The 200 years old mango tree was uprooted due to the heavy wind with rains during the wee hours. As a result, the power supply in Kadiyali ward was disrupted. The Fire service and MESCOM were alerted early in the morning, the team visited the spot and are clearing the branches. The MESCOM team has been involved in restoring the cables to resume the power supply.
The newly constructed grocery store belonging to Ismail was damaged. The loss is estimated at around Rupees 3 lakhs.
Kadiyali ward councillor Sashiraj Kunder visited the spot and has assured of necessary help from the City Municipal Council.
