Kemaru Swamiji Urges Proper Investigation in Shiroor Swamiji’s death
Udupi: “Shiroor Swamiji was in good health but there was a dispute of the idol “Sri Anna Vittala and the Shiroor Swamiji had taken it very seriously. The hospital report confirms that the Swamiji had died due to poisoning which should be thoroughly investigated”, said the Kemaru Esha Vittaldas Swamiji in a press statement on July 19.
In his statement Kemaru Swamiji has mentioned, “Shiroor Swamiji was in very good health and was not suffering from any illness to die suddenly. On July 16, he had said that would file a criminal case against the Swamijis for not returning the idol of the Math deity, Sri Anna Vittala”.
Kemaru Swamiji further stated, “The Swamiji had participated in the Vanamahotsava programme and had consumed food after the programme which led to his illness is far from the truth. If the Swamiji had fallen ill after consuming the food at the programme, why hadn’t others fallen ill and vomited? The Swamiji did not die due to food poisoning, the government should take this issue seriously and a thorough investigation should be carried out in this case.”
“This is a suspicious death and the government should take this case very seriously. A high-level investigation should be initiated and justice should be done”, said Kemaru Swamiji.
