Mangaluru: Fifteen people have been arrested on August 25, by the police for stripping and assaulting a youth at Attavar on August 24.
Anwar (name changed)(28), was assaulted by Hindu activists after tying him to a electric pole and stripping him. According to his brother, Anwar and the girl were travelling in a car from Attavar. The girl who is Anwar’s collegue had borrowed Rs 2000 with him. When Anwar handed over the money to her, she requested him to drop her to Nandigudda.
While Anwar was on the way to Nandigudda to drop the girl, at Babbugudde Attavar, a group of men caliming to be Hindu Activists waylaid the car. They pulled Anwar out from the car, thrashed him and stripped off his clothes after tying him to a electric police.
Anwar is now recovering in the hospital. The Pandeshwar police arrested four persons on August 24 and on August 25, 11 more persons have been detained.
