Mangaluru: Finally the state government has appointed a new commissioner to the City Corporation. The government has officially announced Hephsiba Rani Korlapati IAS as the new commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation on December 31.
Hephsiba hails from Andhra Pradesh, she is of the IAS batch 2010. Prior to her appointment as MCC commissioner, Hephsiba was serving as the assistant commissioner, Sub Division of Basava Kalyana in Bidar district. She will take charge as commissioner of Mangaluru City corporation soon.
The news of the appointment of the new commissioner comes nearly six months after Shanadi Ajith Kumar was sent on training.
There were allegations from the opposition for not appointing the commissioner which has affected in the development of the city. The appointment of the new commissioner will bring a relief to the opposition and the development work will continue under the able leadership of the New commissioner Hephsiba.
