Mangaluru: The Mini Vidhana Soudha was inaugurated at the Taluk Office premises, opposite Town Hall here, on November 22.
Former Union minister and senior Congress leader, M Veerappa Moily inaugurated the Mini Vidhana Soudha by cutting the ribbon. The programme began with the state anthem.
The programme was inaugurated by Veerappa Moily by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais. Addressing the gathering, Veerappa Moily said, “Rs 10.26 crores have been spent for building the Mini Vidhana Soudha in the Taluk Panchayat premises. Taluk-level offices of the Revenue department and the PWD will operate from the Mini Vidhana Soudha. In all districts, a mini Vidhana Soudha will be built and this task has been taken up by the Chief Minister.”
He further said that Mangaluru is very popular and it has all the facilities to attract investors. “Keeping this in mind, we need to develop the infrastructure and the state government has taken all the measures to provide infrastructure to Mangaluru. PWD’s Superintendent Engineer Kantharaj has worked hard for the design of the building.” He also said that the government under the UGC grant has sanctioned Rs 2 crore to renovate the Ravindra Kalabhanva in the Mangaluru University college.
