Minister Khader Warns Trouble-makers of Tough Action
Mangaluru: Minister of health and family welfare U T Khader visited the houses of Saifwan of Chembugudde who died of injuries sustained in an attack and of Dhanaraj, another victim of assault.
He said that a serious view had been taken of the recent incidents of violence in and around Ullal. All those who were responsible for them would be correctly identified and stringent action would be taken against them. The police department would be asked to invoke the Goonda Act against them, he said.
He made a special appeal to the public not to give credence to rumours and instead to maintain peace and harmony. They should inform the police about anyone disturbing the peace, he appealed.
He also visited the graves of his parents, the stone inscriptions on which had been destroyed by a miscreant, believed to be a mentally deranged person, and offered prayers.
Family sources said that they had not pursued any case against the man. The police too have let him off with a warning.
