Minister Madhwaraj demands COD Prob in Bhaskar Shetty murder case
Udupi: The district in-charge and state Fisheries, Sports and Youth affairs minister Pramod Madhwaraj demanded a COD inquiry of Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty murder case. The minister forwarded a letter to the home minister by fax on August 11.
The minister has stated in the letter that Hotelier Shetty was missing since July 28 and his mother had filed a complaint on July 30 in which she had stated that her son was kidnapped by Shetty’s wife and son. Soon after the complaint was filed, Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari and son Navaneeth were taken into custody and they confessed to having murdered Bhaskar Shetty with the help of Astrologer Niranjan Bhat.
Bunt Associations and many other social organizations alleged that the police department showed negligence in the investigations. People of the district are watching the police department in doubt. This only raises suspicion that the department is trying to bury the case and cover the crime of some influential and powerful people. Since many people are involved in this murder case, the COD alone could conduct a fair investigation, he stated.
