Bahrain, January 30, 2009: The Karnataka Social Club-Bahrain held the Indian Republic Day celebrations on Friday 30 January at the Pappilon party hall. The event started with the National Anthem. This was followed by cinematic dances by members children.

The highlight of the event was THE INDIAN LOOK 2009 contest for children in the age groups 4-14 yrs. More than 15 children took part dressed in various costumes depicting the different Indian States. The coveted winners prize went to Ashlyn Alva with the runner up title going to Tanya Idya. Consolation prizes were given to all participants.

The DJ took over following the contests playing music ranging from hip hop to the old time favourites. A lunch buffet followed by a session of Konkani masala saw the event concluding with a message of thanks from the organisers.
