Royal Challengers get new cheerleaders

By Team Mangalorean Bangalore

Bangalore, April 13: Royal Challengers, Bangalore (RCB) owned by liquor baron Vijaya Mallya, will get new cheerleaders 'White Mischief Gals' to boost its morale in the second edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) in South Africa from April 18. In the inaugural edition held here last year, cricket fans were enthralled by the 'Washington Redskins' cheerleading team.

The 'Gals' from a US varsity are seasoned cheerleaders and among the renowned names in the world in this aspect.

The team, consisting of 24 girls gave a colourful demonstration with their 'flirty' on-field acts at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here today. They would be leaving for Bloemfontein in South Africa later this week. The team was christened 'White Mischief Gals' following the owner United Spirits Ltd.'s (USL) vodka brand White Mischief crossed sales of a million cases in the year recently.

"The White Mischief Gals have been specially trained in flirty acrobatic skills for a scintillating on-field performance that sets them distinctly apart from any other cheerleading squad. We will hold special previews of their acts for fans at select clubs in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Lucknow” said USL Business Head Debashish Shyam.

A team of Fourteen cheerleaders headed by Rebecca Reid will fly to South Africa to cheer on the RC team while 10 members will stay back and pick up 15 lucky and bold flirters to watch one match in South Africa. Flirt with Michief Gals is among the contests planned by the Royal Challengers.

The Gals will arrive in each city in a specially designed bus with evocative slogans for the fans. The fans have more to cheer as special on-ground promotions will get them branded White Mischief merchandise with flirtatious messages and tips.

In tune with the high octane T20 matches, the Gals, are all set to let the mercury soar. However, it will be disappointing for the cricket fans as they can see them only on television this time.
