Ten Kenyan students taken into custody

By Team Mangalorean Mysore

Mysore October 31, 2009: Police today took 10 students from Kenya into custody at Dattagalli in the city, for creating nuisance in the locality and also for assaulting the policemen.

Police said the students belonging to JSS Law College in Kuvempunagar, allegedly assaulted three policemen, who went to their residence following a complaint from a neighbour. The students, tenants of a house belonging to a Jayanagar resident, allegedly boozed and created nuisance in the locality till late in the night every day.

The neighbours had advised them to mend their ways but to no avail. One of the desperate neighbours went to the police station in the early hours and sought their assistance. When the policemen arrived at the house of the Kenyans, the students dragged them to a room and started beating them.

The policemen, however, managed to come out and locked the main door of the house from outside. On receiving information from the policemen, an Inspector rushed to the spot with a team of 50 policemen and took the students into custody. They were subjected to medical examination at K R Hospital here, where the doctors found them to be under the influence of alcohol.

The injured policemen were being treated in a private hospital here, police added.

These people have committed a crime, it really does not matter where they come from. To me thats not important. Im kenyan in the usa and i dont go around committing crimes. It should also be noted that implying that all kenyans commit crimes is ignorant and has no place in todays thinking. lets judge people individually. There are alot of corrupt indians in kenya, does that mean every indian in kenya is corrupt?, i dont think so.

Dear Kenyan students, You know very well what would happen in Kenya, if you were to commit such a thing on the policemen. Please do not take advantage of the good hospitality of the Indian people.

Kenyan students in general have the tendency of indulging in crime, sell contraband goods and cheat locals. In Mangalore, many have been known for selling drugs, fake imported goods(Made by USA) and getting into fight with the locals in pubs.

Law authorities should try them and give them due punishment without succumbing to any external pressure.

They should be jailed and then deported. Had they tried such stunts with cops in Middle east, Europe or U.S, they would have spent a few years behind bars besides being trashed with batons or whipped.

Hope our police force and law will punish them.

Do proper investigation and if they found guilty as soon as possible pack up them into their country. Because they all are from African country, so there is no rule and law. As they thinking everywhere is the same, so send them back. It is better for us, they doesn;t care about other lives. Our respected police do not think more, before something wrong happening send them.

No mercy if they have taken law in their own hand and treated the police badly and also creating vandlism in our society.

They have to abide by the law when they are in our country. If they dont boot them out.
