Moodbidri, November 8, 2009: The three day cultural extravaganza Nudisiri 2009 concluded today amid glorious musical and cultural events and roaring fireworks and splendid performances. The highlight of the culmination programme was the honouring of the well known achievers in various fields.

Those achievers honoured on this occasion included Dr. Sarojini Mahishi administrator and linguist, Mr. Prasanna playright and Theatre personality,  Dr.C.R. Chandrashekar Educationist,  Mr. K. Govind Bhat philanthropist, Prof. K.P.Rao educational expert, Dr. Sudha Murthy novelist and writer,  Dr. B.A.Sanadi, Dr. Jayamala Cine artiste and film administrator, Prof. M. Ramchandra researcher and veteran teacher and Sukri Bomma Gowda Nadoja award winner. They were honored by Jagadguru Dr. Thontada Siddalinga Samstana Matha Gadag.

Speaking on the occasion Swamiji stated human traits are difficult to be appreciated, but some of us were above just appreciation but qualify for more, but the human achievement should not stop at that but has to go on and on and try to achieve what is best for all and what the god himself would like to appreciate. Such achievements do not come so easily and everyone of us has to be a Karmayogi and deliver the best for the world.

Swamiji told Dr. Mohan Alva who himself is an achiever has spared no effort to identify other achievers. He appreciated the pains taken by him to identify other achievers like Dr. Sudhamurthy and others. He also said Moodbidri was shaping into a fine University township in addition to being Jain Kashi and Sasya Kashi.

Replying to the felicitations Dr. Sudha Murthy said she was happy that she was chosen for this honour, she said it was her dream to visit Moodbidri from a long time but this time it became true.

Dr. Jayamala in her reply stated that the people of Dakshina Kannada district were so resourceful that they lose no time in appreciating others. This honour has filled her life with joy she added.

During the day long deliberations the Nudisiri's last day witnessed many meaningful events that included Vachana Prabhat by Shivakumar Mahanth of Shimoga, Kavi Samaya-Kavi Namana by Veena Bannanje,  seminars on print and electronic media which was deliberated by Mr. Girish Rao and G.N. Mohan,  Kathasamaya by Nemichandra, memorirs of Idinabba by Dr. Na. Mogasale,  and Dr. Ramaswamy D.S.

In Mathina Mantapa  Dr. Bhuvaneshwari Hegde and Indumathi Salimatha presented papers on culture while Dr. A.V. Navada of Kuvempu University gave retrospection of the Kavi Sammelana.

Dr. Hampa Nagarajaiah president of Nudisiri 2009 delivered the presidential address. Dr. M. Mohan Alva thanked.
