MANGALORE, November 15, 2009: The Panambur beach suddenly sprang up to life, colourful umbrellas, creative settings and even more beautiful heroine and tough hero danced and sang an amorous duet on the silvery beach. It was a scene shot on the beach on Saturday and Sunday for the film Vichitra Premi (strange lover).

The story revolves as the name suggests around young lovers, carefree and deeply in love the hero (Ravi Kumar) and heroine (Divya Shridhar) aimlessly on the beach singing duet dressed in sizzling outfits -especially that of Divya which gave sleepless nights to the young boys gathered there to watch the shooting. They held their breath when she emerged from the sea in transparent costume.

Director of the film Mr. S.L. Kumar told Mangalorean.com that his earlier tele films also had love as their central theme. He has previously directed serials like Kadambari, Minchu, Itihasa Kannada, Muthina Thorana for Balaji productions. Vichitra Premi was his first full scale movie for the large screen. Mr. Kumar said he has previously worked with award winning directors like Dorai Bhagavan.

Well known cinematographer Renu Kumar is the man behind the camera and his recent film Cheluvina Chittara has become a hit. Hero Ravi Kumar himself is producing this film. The team had come to Panambur to film one of the love songs of the film. There are four songs in the film and three of them revolve around the hero and heroine, filmed in different locations like Tumkur and Mandya.

These are the new faces of our Kannada Movie Industry?? I'm sure it's all part of ridiculous package we have been getting in the name of movies!! Then again, I can't complain much - we had accepted Ambarish, Jaggesh, Puneet kumar and others years ago. So, I guess....tragedy continues.

Yenu sikkapatte sheke antheera ee mangloornaage

Mai yella oddeyaagi hoyitu bevarininda

Nee bandu muttabedavo hero nan magane

Punaha samudradalli mulugu hakokke

Naa yenu Blue film heroine yendu kondiddiya

Those are the lyrics of the song filmed above. Remixing and computerised background music will make it sound a la A R Rehman product at the end.

I don't think movies need to promote panambur beach..especially with such actors..
Chris Rego, UAE Nov 15, 2009
Gosh! Is that spindle in that ridiculous red & blue outfit really the hero in the movie? No wonder the movie has an offbeat title - 'Vichitra Premi'.
