Dubai November 23, 2009: Katapady Parishioners living in the U.A.E came together on Friday, the November 20th at Marhaba Hall, Hotel Dubai Grand to celebrate their Four years of hardship and unity, with 'Katapady Utsav - 2009'.  The ‘Katapady Konkans' (KK) members along with other well wishers exhibited their talents, enthusiasm and commitment throughout the programme. 

MC Mr. Nanu Marol Thottam (Clarence Fernandes) wellknown critic in the Konkani Literature world made his debut on the stage as a compere with evoking god’s blessing and welcoming the gathering followed by a popular Konkani Number “Ye Ye Cheduva” from Lloy D’Souza. Vincent Pinto rocked the stage with his Hindi number “Pal Pal Dil Ke Pas”.

The President of “Katapadi Konkans” Mr. Agnel D Silva formally welcomed the gathering while Jacinta D'Silva, Anita D'Souza, Sweeny Rodrigues, Shalet Pinto, Olivia and Thelma recited the prayer song and welcomed everyone.  The crowd was entertained with some of the best evergreen numbers by Lloy beautifully singing the hit number “Juliana”, Jacinta D Silva and Linford Quadros sang melodiously the Duet songs. Vincent Pinto encouraged the couple to come up on the stage to dance the tune of “Mog tujo kitlo aashelo” a Konkani Song.

The Secretary of KK Mr. Agnel Rodrigues presented the report for the year 2008-09 listing all the charity activities done during the year.  A small stage programme was conducted where Sponsor of the programme were felicitated by Katapady Konkans. The event gained momentum when little stars of Katapady performed some Scintillating dances with foot taping numbers by Abbrial Pereira, Jenessa D'Silva, Anluan Rodrigues, Clivisha Fernandes and Joylene Lewis, Acacia Rodrigues and Aaron D’Silva performed on Twist Twist and Bum Bum Bole, Cassia Rodrigues for Dance pe Chance Marle, Lisha and Selven for Dil bole hadippa and Twist, Aviola Pereira and Sweeny performed to the English number Hip Hop.  They really made their mark on the minds of the people gathered there.

Konkani Ata (Yakshaghana) performed by Canute Suares & Group was a super hit performance.  Arun Monteiro directed and performed skits with the support of Canute Soares, Walter Monteiro, and Molly D’Souza were unique and fun.  The main attraction of the programme was Goan Mando presented by Jacinta D’Silva, Sheetal Almeida, Anita D’Souza, Sweeny Rodrigues, Shalet Pinto and Celina followed by Skit for Nodamma Hudugi Kannada  Movie song.  Richard Rodrigues the Santa Claus along with the kids performed Bum Bum Bole followed by Christmas carols and distributing gifts to the children.  

Various fund raising activities were conducted by members such as Housie Housie and Cock Lottery. Agnel Rodrigues conducted American Bottle Auction.  The event started at 12.30 and continued till 06.30 in the evening providing variety of fun the event one after the other which was a memorable one with loads of entertainment, prizes, mind blowing music and mouth watering food.

Besides all the fun DJ Johnson kept the audience busy on dance floor with his wonderful collection of foot taping Baila numbers.
