Mangalore Dec 17, 2007: Christmas is the time to share love in numerous ways. Some share food, exchange gifts with family and friends. It is time to reflect on how fortunate we are to enjoy the freedom, wealth and above all good health. Most of all Christmas is the time to remember and share whatever little we can to help bring a smile on the less fortunate.
Here is one such family who desperately seeks our help and support in prayers, and in financial need.

Twenty eight years old Girish Poojary is not the same person as he was two months ago. He is lying unconscious on the hospital bed staring at the ceiling as his mother Bhavani awaits impatiently for her son to wake up.
Girish who was an auto rickshaw driver met with an accident near Mangalore railway station on October 10, 2007. Though he managed to reach home after the accident, he started complaining about head ache and dizziness and within few minutes he fell unconscious. Though immediately he was rushed to the hospital, he had already slipped into coma. Till today he remains unconscious. According to Dr K. Muralidhar Pai, Prof of Neuro Surgery at KMC, who is treating Mr Poojary said that the CT scan shows large Subdural hemorrhage. After Emergency Craniotomy and evacuation of SDH, he was in intensive care. According to Dr Pai, patient needs prolonged hospital stay with necessary treatment and care. The cost of his hospital expenses are already crossed over 4lakhs which is beyond the reach of this poor family of seven.

Girish is married to Bhavani and together they have one and half year old son Tushar. Bhavani is supporting the family by rolling the beedies. Girish was supporting the family along with his younger brother who is also driving an auto rickshaw.
The family has already used all their resources and is now in a desperate need of financial help. "The hospital staff has been constantly reminding us to pay the outstanding everyday expenses that are pending and accumulating. After spending every thing that we had towards Girish's medical expenses we are not only unable pay his daily expenses but are in a desperate situation to meet our family's daily needs" says his mother Bhavani sobbingly. His sister Ashwini says that the family would like to shift Girish from the hospital after paying the bills to a less expensive hospital as he needs prolonged stay and care.

Girish's wife, little son, Father, mother, younger sister and younger brother are praying for his speedy recovery and plead you to remember him in your prayers and monetary support.
