Bangalore November 10, 2008: Bangalore City police have today arrested a financier for his alleged involvement in a major sex change racket in the city.

The police, who had busted the racket yesterday with the arrest of two eunuchs for kidnapping a boy and coercing him into prostitution after his sex was changed, had succeeded in arresting kingpin Rajanna from the city and they were on the look out for a doctor, who operated the boy in Andhra Pradesh, the sources said.

The racket involves in kidnapping, castrating and eventually forcing them into begging and prostitution.

The boy revealed that he had gone to Kadapa and underwent a couple of surgeries and got his sex changed before being named as Shilpa. The only son of labour Venkatappa was then forced into the business of prostitution and begging. The money he collected from the day was given to Rajanna, who had financed his surgery in Kadapa. Rajanna had also made the arrangement of Rs 50,000 for the breast transplant in a city hospital.

The boy has been admitted to Victoira hospital for rejuvenating his genitals. The Chief Minister's office has come forward to bear the medical expenses for the operation, they added. According to a report, there were about 25,000 transgenders in the city.

Kudpi RKS states, "... but I have personally seen and heard about worse incidents during my Bank job days, simply because I was not reading papers or listening to radio news at least for two years from 1978-1980!".

But there is no "Indira Gandhi's Emergency" in India now & hence, we can't compare these incidents with those forced family planning laparoscopy operations of the infamous emergency era supported by the spineless Congress leaders of that time.

According to a report, there were about 25,000 transgenders in the city-Ugly news

I have seen in the majestic area group of hijdas who go to the shops and balckmail them for haftas. Customers will not visit such shops if they are harassed.Hence the shop keeper will give them money to keep them away. Typically they enter a shop, clap loudly and say in their typical voice' Yajmaanre, banddidivi, mamool kodi hogtivi'.On the road, they come close to unsuspecting single men, dash against them and pass comments and ask for money. If you are not careful, they will rob you of your wallet. They can also handle you in public and embarass you.I remember people used to stay at a distance from these social problems. It seems these types of people are common in Yellapur in North Karnataka.

Solution? Educate them and employ them in a gainful way so that they stop creating nuisance.Encourage them to learn skills apart from the only skill they know.

I wonder what opinions will come from physicians like Dr B M Hegde who have in depth knowledge of endocrinolgy.

Nagendra,

These horrific incidents keep happening as long as unemployment, poverty, hunger and misconceptions prevail in the society.

You might not have seen life at a closer range considering your age, idealism and orientation, but I have personally seen and heard about worse incidents during my Bank job days, simply because I was not reading papers or listening to radio news at least for two years from 1978-1980!

This news is not at all news for me. It is just another incident!

How did the Hospital authorities/doctor perform such an operation with minimum knowledge of the boy's parents and know-hows? We are ready to do anything for the sake of money!

Bacche bhagwaan ka dossra roop - This is what we do to them!

Atithi devo bhava - We molest our guests in parties.

Yatra naarayastu pujyante, ramante tatra devataaha - We rape a female ranging from a 6 year old kid to a 60 year old lady!!

Shenoy Maam, IH, Austin Maam, KRS and fellow EYTians: - Whats happening to our country?

There is a very touching dialogue in the movie Lagey Raho Munna Bhai where Sanjay Dutt says "Aaj agar Bapu hota na, toh bolta.... Desh toh apna ho gaya.... Magar log paraaye ho gaye" :-(
