IIT will be established at Muddenahalli, says Moily

Chickaballapur June 2: Union Minister for Law and Justice M. Veerappa Moily on Sunday said that an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) would be established at Muddenahalli on the outskirts of Chickaballapur.

Addressing a meeting of Congress workers here, Mr. Moily, who represents Chickaballapur in the Lok Sabha, said that he had discussed the matter with Union Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal. Steps would be taken soon to set up an IIT at Muddenahalli, he said. During his election campaign, Mr. Moily had promised that he would strive to get an IIT established at Muddenahalli, the birthplace of the legendary engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya. Muddenhalli is all set to occupy a prominent place in the country educational map. Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has also drawn up plans to set up Visvesvaraya Institute of Advanced Technology (VIAT) at Muddenahalli.

According to Higher Education Minister Arvind Limbavali, foundation stone for the VIAT would be laid this month at the 200-acre plot identified for the project. Besides facilitating advanced research in various branches of engineering and technology, the VIAT would offer degree and post-graduate courses.

Further, the Puttaparthi-headquartered Sri Sathya Sai University is also in the process of establishing its campus at Muddenahalli. Sai Baba, the Divine Chancellor of the deemed University, laid the foundation stone for the new campus at Muddenahalli in February this year.

@ Sunil - I think you are the sort of person who without trying to understand the truth jumps into conclusions. Its truly said "Fools rush in where angels fear to tread". You seem to be in a tearing hurry to rush into absurd conclusions. Yourself dont do anything good and complain if you see good happening. Why dont you set up a university with all good intentions .. then you can pass such hollow and illogical comments.

How do you say exploitation. As far as I know SaiBaba has not taken a single rupee for any such so-called "operation". It is a public misconception that He takes money. Those who have really seen his activities will not resort to such comments. All this notions are because of the media. Just as the international media, our media is responsible for distorting the facts and showing their "false propaganda" to the public.

Dont believe what others show you, or claim to have seen. Experience it yourself before making false claims.

How can Sai Baba do this kind of work. He is simply looting the hard earned money from the poor by emotional black mail and channeling a percetage of ill gotten wealth in the field of education and health to keep his operations going without attracting public outcry against his exploitation tactics. we need to beware of these kind of Baba's and their chelas from further exploitation.

Respected sir,
How great it is!
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba alone will do this kind of great deeds.
Thanks to the persons who initiated this intellectual proposal at Dr. Visweswarayya's place. Thanks to Mr. Moily.
Jai Sairam.
