Four Nepali girls rescued in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Sep 7 (IANS) Four Nepali women, who were allegedly being taken to be sold in the Gulf, were rescued in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthnagar district and one man was arrested on charges of human trafficking, police said Monday.

Kashidi Miyan, 35, was arrested Sunday evening in Badhi town while he was trying to hire a bus for Delhi.

"Miyan, who claims to be a resident of Delhi, has confessed that he works for a Nepal-based human trafficking racket that has its members in Uttar Pradesh's various districts, including Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich," Inspector Ram Asrey told reporters.

"Miyan told us that he lured the four woman, who are in their early 20s, on the pretext of providing them high-income jobs in Delhi. He admitted that as per the plan, the women were to be sold to some clients from Kuwait," he added.

According to police, there could be a possibility that the women were being trafficked for flesh trade.

All the four women are from Makwanpur district in Nepal and came from poor families, police said.
