Mangalore Dec 17, 2007: A couple hailing from Kushtagi Taluk in Koppal district were killed in the landslide at Kavoor today December 17, 2007.

The mishap occurred when a JCB Machine and seven laborers were engaged in leveling of the land belonging to certain Karim Khan behind Ananth Arcade at Kavoor.

The laborers were working on erecting a compound wall on top of the hillock which collapsed on them trapping the couple under the heap of mud and stones. The deceased are identified as Yellappa(50) and his wife Eeramma(40). Five others who were working with them have escaped without any injuries.

Fire personnel who rushed to the spot have pulled out the bodies of the couple.
