Puttur: Abetment to Attempted Murder – Actor Vinod Alva Granted Conditional Bail

Puttur: Vinod Alva, a multilingual film actor hailing from the district, has been facing charges of plotting the murder of his erstwhile employee Sachidananda.

He has been accused of getting his driver Udaya Chikkittaya to knock Sachidananada by running his jeep over him some time ago. The jeep in question was found abandoned at Devaragunda in Sullia taluk a few days later, Chikkittarya has been absconding.

Alva was in judicial custody after his arrest. An application for bail was filed in the Puttur-based 5th additional district and sessions court, the police also wanted his custody for interrogation.

When the case came up for hearing on Tuesday, Dec 1, Alva was granted conditional bail by the court.
