Ramakrishna Mission completes Tenth Successful Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan

Mangaluru: The Tenth week of 7 cleanliness drives of the 400 Abhiyans being organised by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru took off on Sunday, the 10th December at 7 different locations in the city.

103 PVS Circle – Prerana Team carried out the cleanliness drive in Kodialbail area. Lion P Kishore Rao and Film Producer Kishore Shetty jointly flagged off the drive. Sadananda Upadhyaya coordinated the team. About 60 members of the team formed into different groups and cleaned the area near PVS circle under the guidance of Jaya Rao and Geetha Kalianpur.

104 Old Bus Stand – Students of Ganapathi High school carried out the drive surrounding the Old Bus Stand area in Hampankatta. Kumble Narasimha Prabhu and Lecturer Ramachandra Naik waived the flag and initiated the drive. About 120 students under the guidance of Mahesh Bondala cleaned the area. Students who are good in art, under the guidance of Harish and Sundar cleaned and painted the walls of Ganapathi High School and have drawn beautiful drawings and art which attracts the attention of onlookers.

105 Padil – The citizens of Padil took up the cleanliness drive in Main road at Padil. Swami Jitakamanandaji and P Thilothama Kotian flagged off the drive. Uday K P led the team in cleaning both sides of the road and removed heaps of mud and garbage resulting providing much-needed space for parking of auto rickshaws. K Balakrishna Naik coordinated the team.

106 Hampankatta – About 40 members of Sri Krishna Bhavan Auto Drivers association took up the drive in Hampankatta area. K V Sathyanarayana and Ganesh Bolar flagged off the drive. The members cleaned the area near Clock tower, in front of Tokyo Market and main roads of Hampankatta under the able guidance of Dilraj Alva. JCB was used to clear the heaps of debris and garbage in front of Tokyo market. Naveen Shetty and Yogish were actively involved in the Abhiyan.

107 Kadri – Members of Paramjyothi Manava Seva Samithi and Novigo Solutions jointly took up the drive near Kadri market. Shivakumar, CA flagged off the drive. Zealous youngsters of Novigo Solutions thoroughly cleaned the two bus shelters in the area and painted them giving a much-needed make-over. Manohar Prabhu guided the team that cleaned the area surrounding Kadri Market and the main road.

108 Car Street – The students of GFGC, Mangalore took up the cleanliness work near Temple Square in Car Street. Dr Rajashekhar Hebbar, Principal, GFGC and Vittaldas Prabhu flagged off the drive. Students cleaned the area surrounding Sri Venkataramana Temple and Ganapathi temple. Swarna and several other students took part in the drive.

109 Deralakatte – The Students of K S Hegde Medical Academy carried out the cleanliness work in Deralakatte under the guidance of Dr Satish Rao. Dr Ramananda Shetty, Dean & Prof. Hemalatha Shetty flagged off the drive. Dr Ramananda Shetty addressed the students on the significance of hygiene before the drive. About 50 students actively took up the cleanliness work for nearly two hours.
