Shiroor Swamiji’s Body Arrives at Shiroor Math, Devotees Pay Last Respect
Udupi: The mortal remains of Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math were brought to the Shiroor Math at around 3:00 pm.
A large number of devotees converged to catch a last glimpse of the Swamiji.
After performing the religious rituals the body was kept for the public viewing.
Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the passing away of the Swamiji. Madhwaraj said, “The Swamiji was pro-poor and progressive in his thoughts and actions.”
On behalf of the Udupi district administration, Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis and Zilla Panchayat CEO Shivananda Kapasi paid their last respects to the Swamiji
Swamiji’s Last rites will be held at the Shiroor Moola Math near Hiriyadka.
Meanwhile, the Udupi district police have sealed the Shiroor Moola Math for three days for investigation.
