Udupi: Puthige Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji has decided to not to participate in the Paryaya Celebrations. Swamiji who had earlier announced of participating in the Paryaya celebrations, later in a meeting with Pejawar Swamiji in the evening had discussed certain issues.
There was a pressure on Puttige Math and Shiroor Math not to appoint their junior Swamijis. Three notices were also issued in this regard. Three members had visited Puttige Math in this regard. The representatives of Palimaru, Sode and Mantralaya Math had also put pressure not to appoint junior Swamijis.
Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji and Sri Vishwa Prasanna Swamiji settled the issue. They have given in writing saying that he can appoint a junior Swamiji. The confusion of exercising the right of Puttige Math has also been solved. I will not participate in the Paryaya Darbar and the Procession said Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swamiji.
The stand of Puttige Math should not be questioned, all the devotees of Puttige Math should be treated equally, he added.
