‘There is Threat to my Life’, said Shiroor Swamiji – Advocate Ravikiran
Udupi: “In connection with the idol of Sri Anna Vittala, Shiroor Swamiji had said that he had a threat to his life”, said advocate Ravikiran Murdeshwar, who filed a caveat to the court on behalf of the Shiroor Swamiji.
Speaking to the mediapersons, Advocate Ravikiran said, “Shiroor Swamiji had instructed me to file a criminal case against the Swamijis of Asta Maths for not handing over the idol of Sri Anna Vittala and other idols. According to the Shiroor Swamiji, I filed a caveat in the court.”
“On June 8, Shiroor Swamiji had come to my office and spoken to me for 2 hours about the misunderstanding between the Swamijis of Asta Maths. He had also said that there was a threat to his life and today he died of mysterious circumstances”, said Advocate Ravikiran.
Ravikiran further said, “When the Shiroor Swamiji was ill, he had placed the Sri Anna Vittala idol in Sri Krishna Math. Later When the Swamiji asked the Sri Krishna Math to return the idol, they refused. So the Shiroor Swamiji decided to file a criminal case. I had prepared all the documents to file the case but unfortunately, Shiroor Swamiji died on July 19.”
Ravikiran also said, “On July 17, the Swamiji had attended the Vanamahotsava programme in Shiroor, after the programme the Swamiji had food with the children. Later he developed Stomach pain and was vomiting. He was then admitted to the Manipal KMC Hospital on July 18 early morning but he breathed his last on July 19 at 8:30 am. The medical report says that the Swamiji died due to poisoning. The case has been handed over to the police for further investigations”.
