Soori Shetty, a social worker, is well known in Padubidri, Kaup and Udupi for selflessly rushing to the aid of accident victims and has saved over 250 lives so far.

The Swamiji said that in times of mishaps, crowds gather but no one comes forward to the rescue. In such difficult situations, Shetty had done a commendable job in rushing to help the victims and had single-handedly saved lives, without any personal motives. The ambulance was given to him to support his efforts, further said.

Shetty, thanking the Swamiji for the generous gesture, said that in the event of mishaps, no vehicles were available. Motorists decline to carry the injured because of the blood gushing out. This posed a problem for his mission.

But now the ambulance would help him save more lives. He said the gift of the ambulance was as good as getting two more hands to work for the victims, said Shetty.

Entrepreneurs Manohar Shetty and Jerry Vincent Dias, Soori Shetty’s associates Devaraj, Chittan R Poojary, Prakash Sanil, Ravindra Mallar, Ashok Shetty, Umesh Shetty and others were present on the occasion.

Take courage in emergencies!
