Udupi: In a shocking incident, a man stabbed a guest at the Holy Communion function held at Shirva here on May 5.
The injured has been identified as Naveed, a resident of Shivabagh in Mangaluru.
According to sources, Naveed was attending a Holy communion function where Anthony John D’Souza was also a guest. After sometime Anthony had a altercation with the catering staff, Naveed intervened and stopped the fight. Anthony immediately went home and came back armed with a knife and stabbed Naveed.
Naveed was rushed to the hospital, his condition is said to be critical. It is learnt that Anthony has the habit of getting into fights during functions. In a similar case Anthony was arrested a few days ago and was released on bail.
Anthony has been arrested and investigation is on.
