Udupi: To mark the Fifth Paryaya festival of Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, district Samastha Muslim Paryaya Sauhardha Samiti orgainsed a blood donation camp at the Sanskrit College here on January 17.
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math visited the blood donation camp premises and graced the initiative of the samithi.
In his message Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said that the people of all communities are extending their co-operation for the success of Paryaya. Sri Krishna Math has catered brotherhood among Hindus and Muslims. Haji Abdullah has donated oil Sri Krishna Math when there was need for oil in the Math. People from the Muslim community have brought in offerings and are donating blood. A programme to promote inter-religious dialogue will be organised. The service of the Muslim community to the Paryaya is a model to the country. Blood donation should increase rather than blood shedding, he added.
Eminent doctors of Kasturba Medical College Manipal Dr L Raghavendra Rao and Dr Abdul Razak were honoured by Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji on the occasion.
Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor of the Paryaya Committee, Hamzath Kodi, Mohammed Arif, Ansar Mohammed and others were present.
