Udupi: The 20th-anniversary celebrations of the Gandhi Hospital was held at the Shyamili Auditorium Ambalpadi here on Tuesday, May 5.
The programme began with an invocation. M Harishchandra, the Managing Director and CEO of Gandhi Hospital, welcomed the gathering.
Shri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
In his message, Shri Vishweshatheertha Swamiji said that the profession of doctors is a noble one and therefore, they must adhere to the ethics of their profession. “The Gandhi hospital has, in the last 20 years, preserved the quality of its service towards its patients.” He congratulated the administration and staff on the occasion.
P Jayaram Bhat, Managing Director and CEO of Karnataka Bank Ltd, presided over the function. Vinay Kumar Sorake (State Urban Development and district minister in-charge), Pramod Madhwaraj (MLA Udupi), Dr P V Bhandary (Director of A V Baliga Hospital Doddangudde), Vidwan Jayaram Acharya Parkala, Laxmi and Panchami were present on the dais.
Inauguration of Renovated Labour Theatre
On occasion of the 20th Anniversary, Dr Pratap Kumar (Professor, Department of OBG KMC Hospital Manipal) inaugurated the Renovated Labour Theatre. Dr G Shankar (President of G Shanker Family Trust), Dr Ashok Kumar Y G (Okude Diagnostic Center Udupi), U R Sabhapathi (ex-MLA Udupi), Dr Surendra Chimbalkar (DHO Udupi), Dr Sandeep Shenai K (President IMA Udupi) and Dr Veena (Blood Bank Officer District Hospital Udupi) were present.
To mark the occasion, a mass blood donation camp was also held.
