Woman with Kid Found Dead in Pond – Suicide Suspected
Puttur: Vedavati (26), wife of Satish Poojary, from Kuremajalu in Mundur village in the taluk, was found dead with their 2-year-old son Anish in a pond near their house on Saturday night.
They had married three years ago and their marital relationship was cordial, according to family sources.
On Saturday, they were watching the TV for some time. Before going to bed, all the three had gone towards the washrooms.
Satish returned and slept soon thereafter. But Vedavati and child did not come for a long time. The family members went in search of her.
First, her mobile phone was found lying near a stream near the house. After further search, their bodies were found floating in a pond closeby.
The fire service was called for and their bodies were taken out.
No motive for the suspected suicide is known. Investigations are in progress under circle inspector Mahesh Prasad’s lead. A case has been filed at the rural police station.
