10 held by Kadri Police for Cheating Students Promising Medical Seat

10 held by Kadri Police for Cheating Students Promising Medical Seat

Mangaluru: The Kadri police have arrested 10 persons in connection with a cheating case near Indrani Lodge, Suratkal here on September 9.

The arrested have been identified as Ajay Nayak Mukharji alias Kailash Prakash Maurya (41) from West Bengal, Saurabh Gupta alias Divakar (32) from Lucknow, Anoop Singh (35) from Goa, Amith Ranjan (25) from Bihar, Swapan Biswas alias Mahesh Kumar (54) from Kolkatta, Rajeev Kumar (30) from Hyderabad, Anil Tuljiram Samthani alias Jayesh Ranglani (62) from Kolkatta, Manish Kumar Shah (30) from Jharkhand, Dhiraj Sharma alias Vikram (30) from Jharkhand and Sanjay Kumar Mahathur (26) from Jharkhand.

According to the police, the accused promised to provide medical seats in A J Hospital to two students from Delhi and Rajasthan. The accused called the students to A J Hospital and introduced themselves as officials of AJ showing fake ID cards. The accused then took 2 demand drafts each Rs 5.4 lakh from both the students. After taking the demand draft the accused absconded. In this connection, Kamal Singh Raj Purohit filed a complaint in the Kadri Police station.

On September 9, on getting information the Kadri Police team led by Inspector Maruti Nayak arrested all the 10 accused from Suratkal. The police seized 2 Demand drafts (Rs 5.4 Lakh each), 20 mobile phones, 2 laptops, I-pad, Printer, cash Rs 10 lakh, Innova car, Chevrolet car, fake ID cards, A J Medical Signs and K S Hegde Medical Academy seals all worth Rs 30.98 Lakh from their possession.

Under the able guidance of Police Commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, the operation was carried out by Kadri Police Inspector Maruti Nayak, PSI Harish and team.

The Security Department (Law & Order) of Karnataka in all towns and cities must be always alert and vigilant towards suspected people and individuals from Western, Northern, and Southern Indian States, who arrive or migrate to Karnataka to carry out acts of fraud, robbery, murder, and sabotage. Action after a crime is useless as the Indian Judiciary takes forever to punish or eliminate any criminal. Along with these thieves from out of states,few local hands are probably involved. How can these guys get to know all the areas of Medical Institutions. On investigation few Locals may show up. Hope and pray that more will be caught locally.

Even in Simpsons it shows that the Law and Order machinery can come into the picture only after someone has been murdered!

Merely suggesting that someone is about to murder and hence needs to be arrested does not work.
Unfortunate, but true.

Most swindlers have little chance for success if the buyers of their services do not show interest in illegally obtaining goods/services.
