10-Month-Old COVID-19 Positive Child Recovers, Discharged from Hospital
Mangaluru: A 10-month-old COVID-19 positive child who was admitted to the Wenlock Hospital was discharged on April 11.
The child was suffering from severe acute respiratory illness. On March 23, the child was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Following the guidelines, the throat SWAB of the child was sent for testing.
On March 26, the district Health and family welfare officer confirmed that the child tested positive for COVID-19. The throat SWAB of the mother and the grandmother of the child was tested negative and they are also discharged from the hospital. Out of the 12 positive cases in the district, 6 people have fully recovered and discharged from the hospital. The good news for the district is that no new cases were reported from April 5 to 11.
To prevent the COVID-19 from spreading to the nearby places, the entire Sajipanadu Gram Panchayat was sealed. The people of Sajipanadu have co-operated well with the district administration during the seal down. The district administration has provided all the essential supplies to the people of Sajipanadu gram panchayat during the seal down. After the seal down of the gram panchayat, no new cases have been reported which is good news for the district administration.
