146 Persons Test Positive and 8 Die of COVID-19 in DK on August 10
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 146 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 8 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 10.
Out of the 146 positive cases, four persons had travelled from the Gulf, 81 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), sixteen persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 15 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 30 others.
Out of the 146 cases tested positive, 94 persons are from Mangaluru, 11 from Bantwal, 16 from Belthangady, 7 from Puttur, 1 from Sullia, and 17 from other districts.
So far 7353 positive cases have been reported in the district and 228 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2910 active cases in the district.
All the 146 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, 533 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
