15-year-old Davangere Student Drowns in Malpe Beach

15-year-old Davangere Student Drowns in Malpe Beach

Udupi: A 15-year-old student who had come on a tour, drowned at the Malpe beach on Friday, December 29.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath A K (15) from Davangere district.

According to the police, a group of students from the Halihalla High School of Davangere district had come on their annual picnic to Udupi district. All went into the water to have fun. While they were playing in the sea a strong wave dragged Manjunath deep into the sea, unable to swim, Manjunath drowned. Manjunath’s body was later recovered with the help of lifeguards.

A case has been registered in the Malpe Police Station

The Beach stretch from Malpe, Thottam, to Kemman is simply beautiful, and the sunset is simply magnificent! Swimming, especially during high tide is however not advisable because of high waves and strong water current, It is sad to note that some people, especially men, throw caution to the wind, and dare to brave the sea to show off their ego – man can never stand the 3 elements of nature, Water, Wind, and Fire.
