16 tested negative for Covid-19 in Udupi
Udupi: Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said 24 people were suspected to be suffering from Covid-19 and 16 samples had tested negative so far.
On Thursday, three more suspected cases were reported and two persons were admitted to government hospitals in Udupi and Kundapur taluks. One person was admitted to KMC Manipal. They had returned from Germany, UAE and Dubai. The swab samples were sent to testing laboratory in Shivamogga.
The deputy commissioner said in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak, check posts will be set up along the borders of the district.
Jagadeesha said that KMC was extending all support to the district administration to curb the disease. The deputy commissioner also said that no bird flu cases were reported in the district.
However, he urged chicken sellers to sell healthy chicken meat and not the hen and the meat from Davanagere and Mysuru, which had reported bird flu cases.
